Environmental sustainability refers to the concept of maintaining behaviours and habits over time in order to develop a virtuous socio-economic system. This implies a balance between the consumption of resources and their regeneration, as well as between the production of pollutants and their natural elimination.
When producing the “Siccagno”, not a single drop of water is taken from the planet and no chemical or synthetic products are used. The environment it comes from is therefore fully respected.
The tomatoes do not contain GMOs. They are planted, cultivated and harvested by hand reducing mechanical work to a minimum and thus reducing CO2 emissions, loss of fertility due to compaction and finally soil erosion.
Strictly local varieties recognised as Slow Food Presidia are used, such as the “Pizzutello”.
Three-yearly agronomic rotations are carried out to encourage the natural balance of the soil elements.
